$24,000! Thanks So Much! Siempre's
Second Annual
Golf Tournament was an incredible success. That's
little Abbey, Siempre's newest child, who thankfully
survived last week's allergic reaction with no ill
affects.
Abbey's one in millions, sadly, one in hundreds of
millions of children who'll sleep on the streets tonight,
live in filth and squalor, hungry, cold, frightened and
with no hope for the future other than to make it
through the day. Because of you- those of you who
give to Siempre on a regular basis -Abbey's safe, well
fed and adjusting. Because of you- those of you who
came along side us in the golf tournament -we're able
to begin to open the doors of Siempre wider still. Who
knows what life changing work will come out of our
new building as small groups, businesses, families,
churches, clubs, universities, missions agency's
come and visit Siempre, work in our community, get to
know Abbey and realize that not one child should be
sleeping on the ground when even one of us, who've
been given so much, sleeps well fed, safe and in
comfort. We celebrate, not because there are
agencies sitting on hundreds of thousands of dollars
designated for missions that they refuse to let go of,
but because people like you have opened your hearts,
opened your wallets, evaluated your personal
finances and have found a place for Abbey, a place for
all of Siempre's kids and a place for their future.
Thanks so much. We still have thousands of dollars
to raise to pay for the entire building- but I'm confidant
that we'll get the job done -we're trusting God, His
Word, Siempre, it means always. He's with us when
we tackle the big tasks of life together. Reaching out
to all the Abbey's of Mexico, the world, it's a task that
will
require the rest of our lives. And so we celebrate... we
have a great plan and a great purpose for our lives.
Sometimes part of the process is a day of golf
together... believe it or not, they're already planning
next years tournament. With that kind of passion,
Abbey and all the kids of Siempre are secure for a
lifetime. Thanks so much. God is too good.

Our Great Room - this is what we built
it for -hanging
out together, homework time, the computer lab, our
library... a place to play, study, read and live together...
all the pictures this week were taken upstairs. If you
were there when we built it, you know the herculean
task we took on... and how great it felt to worship that
Sunday morning, upstairs, first floor almost complete
and looking up to the open sky and all we had left to
do. God's allowed us to be used in amazing ways- I
wish each of you could have been upstairs as
everyone from Siempre shared the great room you
gave them. My time was spent with some of
Siempre's amazing women- that's Debi's back in the
fore ground, our worker Brenda, preparing for two
weeks vacation, me laughing, then Bianca, just back
from vacation and Julia- on her first visit. Debi's well
loved by the women at Siempre and I'm fortunate to be
married to such an amazing woman. Debi carries on
long conversations as if she was fluent in Spanish-
lots of smiles and laughter. Brenda is a college
graduate and can't wait to visit her family. Bianca just
returned from time with her family and had the chance
to share some of her stories of her missions training
and trip to Peru face to face. These young women
love The Lord, have been working hard on their
English and day in and day out keep the children of
Siempre close to their hearts. Please keep them and
all our workers at Siempre in your prayers. Memorial
Day, all the work and visitors, adds to their work load.
Pray that God would increase their strength, wisdom,
health and passion in serving.

You're Invited! In the last week I've invited- the woman in the drive up window at Del Taco, friends at the Homeland church last Sunday, the family sitting next to me at American Idol, (you should have been there, what fun!), the guy from the gas co. working at the church this week... I tell them about Siempre, hand them my card with the little signature picture (at the bottom of this email) on it, share the stories of the children and invite them to join us for a life changing weekend this Memorial Day... believe it or not, perfect strangers register... we won't be strangers after Memorial Day! If you've ever thought of joining us- you're invited -the weekend's not for some closed group of hard core builders- each of us had a "first" and we can't wait to share yours. Why not make this Memorial Day Weekend something to remember for a lifetime... maybe Abbey's lifetime... the lives of so many children who'll come after her. If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to call or email me... as always, we're going this Wednesday- it's medical clinic Wednesday -you're invited, in fact, you're needed, now, more than ever. remember... if you can't join us for the weekend, I'm still working to raise the full amount for the building. Could really use $5,000-, no $50,000, no $500,000- ... you get the drift... we won't say no to $5-. Without your generosity, it won't happen.
