We continue to build because we could
never keep pace with the challenges faced by children
abandoned in Tijuana... much less broken families
and orphaned children around the world. Every good
work is one more piece of the puzzle that can restore
hope in young hearts, protect lives, extend The
Promise of Life to those who're certain they've been
left behind to fight for their own survival. God didn't
give us children to cast into the political process and
hope that someone else takes care of them. Jesus
made it really clear that it's our job to take care of kids
and that the price to pay is huge for those who fail
even one of His little ones... and so we build.
Memorial Day Weekend we'll extend our work, building
on property adjoining our current campus, with room
enough to house work camps from around the world
for years to come. We want to make sure that
everyone who has a heart for helping children has the
opportunity to share the work. That every church that'd
like to be part of the promise of Siempre can step up
and live out God's plan and purpose through them.
That's Neftali, celebrating his 13th birthday, standing
with Pastor Israel- my prayer is that Siempre will be
there to see Neftali through to adulthood. That
when Neftali is married, it might be in our little church
and Pastor Israel will officiate, that the next generation
of supporters for our work, the solution for the
challenges faced in border communities are growing
up in the promise of Siempre today. Children who
know what it is to be abandoned, to be rescued into
the love and wealth of Siempre, who grow up to reach
out to children around the world... and so we build. It's
not our future I'm worried about, I know who holds
tomorrow, it's the children living in poverty, abandoned
and alone, I long to serve. They're why we build. It's
cold, wet, raining in Tijuana. The 27 children of
Siempre are doing fine. Thousands of children are
fighting the flu, without a blanket, barely protected,
hungry and afraid, all across Tijuana... they're why we
build. Hundreds of millions more fight for survival
around the world... they're why we build. They all
deserve a birthday party, to see thirteen years old, to
believe in a future and a hope, to know a pastor, a
family who cares... they're why we build. Looking at
the smile on Neftali's face, remembering his first day
with us, I wonder why some are not building? The
challenge is big enough to require the best from each
of us. The reward is great enough to give our lives to
completely. Neftali... and so many more like him...
they're why we build.
