Check it out! 2,000 additional sq ft of living space at Siempre Para Los Ninos. God is too good! It was an amazing weekend and we're probably 95% complete on the building: a little dry wall left to wrap up, flooring, additional railing around the deck... but it's all over but the shouting! God is good beyond measure. Only a couple of minor injuries- that nail gun through the finger looked gnarly Rob! And we now have room for at least 24 more kids. And the upstairs great room is amazing! 1,000 sq ft of area to hang out in, study, watch tv, etc... all with a million dollar veiw. Sunday morning we had church in "the upper room" before we got to work.

that's 150 people on that new floor before the roof went on. It's plenty safe for our kids.
Sunday evening we fed the entire community... and I think some from the neighboring villages with the best fish fry ever, followed up with home made strawberry short cake! Jean Booth and Theresa Burns are the best cooks on the planet!

Monday morning we dedicated the building on the kids lunch break from school. Ken turned keys over to our architect, John Juhl and one of our lead builders Mike Booth and then Alejandro and the kids unlocked the door to a new, exciting future of hope and promise at Siempre Para Los Ninos.

A door that is always open for children in need, poverty and desperation
After a time of sharing in the upper room- incredibly emotional as one of our orphans stood and through a translator and through tears, told just what the weekend and Siempre has meant to her- not a dry eye in the room - we distributed hundreds of pounds of beans and rice throughout the community. Our way of saying thanks for the way this little village has opened her arms to Siempre and our kids.

Marty, Jody and Evelyn head out with kids to hand out food.
It was a weekend beyond amazing. Thanks so much to all that joined us. Thanks also to those who gave to get the job done. Before we know it the building will be filled to overflowing again. The need is so great. Driving out of Mexico yesterday afternoon, watching little children and adults run from car to car begging, I thanked God that the kids of Siempre are being loved, cared for and being given every opportunity to succeed in life. Keep our work in your prayers. I'm looking forward to being there tomorrow afternoon. You're invited to join me. Come share the miracle!
